PANTONE®’s Color of the Year Plus Color Trends for Spring 2015
Building a custom – or even a semi-custom – home can be a little overwhelming for any home buyer. There are so many elements that go into not only making a house a home, but also into making it uniquely your own. Between selecting essentials like countertops, cabinets, lighting, appliances, flooring, banisters, trim, and more, it’s easy to run out of steam near the finish line and go with a “safe” neutral with regard to the color of your walls. However, the right color can make or break a room – creating atmosphere and setting a mood for all who enter. Entire industries have been built upon the use of color – from fashion to home décor – so Highlight Homes encourages our clients to reserve enough energy and imagination to select the ideal “hues and tone” for their hearth and home.
PANTONE® – the global color authority and provider of professional color standards for the design industries – has announced it Color of the Year for 2015. Marsala (PANTONE 18-1438) is a warm, stylish and earthy wine red that “is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors” according to Pantone Color Institute® Executive Director, Leatrice Eiseman. “Dramatic and at the same time grounding, the rich and full-bodied red-brown Marsala brings color warmth into home interiors.”
Additional colors that are trending for Spring 2015 include PANTONE® 14-4313 Aquamarine, 16-4725 Scuba Blue, 14-5714 Lucite® Green, 19-4052 Classic Blue, 14-1213 Toasted Almond, 16-1720 Strawberry Ice, 15-1247 Tangerine, 13-0720 Custard, and 14-4102 Glacier Gray.
