Earlier this month, Highlight Homes submitted a kitchen renovation for consideration for a 2013 OBIE Award from the Sales & Marketing Council of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association. Having won a Gold OBIE for a previous kitchen renovation in 2011 and a slew of OBIEs over the years for a number of development and residential construction projects, we look ahead to the November awards ceremony with great anticipation. At the same time, we’d like to take a look back at the companies who played a role in what was likely one of our favorite renovations to date. We’re big fans of teamwork and know that the success of this renovation is thanks – in part – to them. Win or lose come November, we’ve already won in our eyes. The homeowner couldn’t be happier with their new kitchen – and for Highlight Homes, that’s what it’s all about!
True Source Cabinets: This Atlanta-based wholesaler provides a wide variety of cabinets from budget and upscale manufacturers, such as Omega – the #1 rated custom manufacturer by Consumer Reports, Kemper – which was recently featured in the Street of Dreams Luxury Home Show, KraftMaid – the country’s largest manufacturer which has often been featured on Extreme Home Makeover, and more. The proper selection of cabinets is an integral part of any Highlight Homes’ kitchen or bath renovation.
Mega Granite: As the leading fabricator of natural stone, quartz and solid surface countertops in the Southeast, Mega Granite provides a wonderful showcase-worthy finish to any kitchen renovation. Highlight Homes not only enjoys working with the Mega team because they are Atlanta-based like we are, but because their stunning countertops are often the crowning touch to our kitchen and bathroom renovations. We also love the fact that many of their products are sourced from natural stone.
Bob Bailey’s: The home appliance experts at Bob Bailey’s are wonderful to work with and extremely knowledgeable about everything from stovetops and ovens to dishwashers and refrigerators. Bob Bailey represents such well-known and highly respected manufacturers as Viking, Jenn-Air, Maytag, Electrolux, GE, Sub-Zero, KitchenAid, and more at discounted prices. We really love that this Stone Mountain-based business is family owned-and-operated – just like us!
ProBuild: The guts to our glory, ProBuild is the nation’s largest supplier of building materials for the home building, commercial construction, and renovation industries. Their ProEarth initiative promotes sustainable building practices – of which Highlight Homes is a major supporter.
Lansing Building Products: As part of our OBIE Award-nominated kitchen renovation, we added a room to open up the space. Lansing is a supplier of exterior building materials to professional contractors. They are literally the icing on the cake.
AVI Marvin: One of our favorite elements of this particular kitchen renovation was the incorporation of a gorgeous wall of windows to let in the light and overlook the homeowner’s lovely backyard (which is now home to a breathtaking outdoor hearth and bricked in seating area designed and crafted by yours truly). AVI Marvin is a highly respected supplier of windows, doors, specialty hardware, millwork and more. Their windows and doors look fabulous in this kitchen!
